Franklin County Deputy Sheriff Mike Severance

Officer of the Week for November 4, 2007

Franklin County Deputy
Mike Severance

On October 18,
2007 Deputy Mike Severance and his K-9 partner Allen of the Franklin
County Sheriff's Office were requested to search for a violent male
subject in Blendon Township. The male was wanted in connection to a
domestic violence complaint and was seen running from the area with a
knife. Before deputies could catch up with the subject, he was able to get
into a thick wooded area. Deputies along with Blendon Township officers
did a cursory search of the area to no avail. At that time, Deputy
Severance and his K-9 entered the wooded area. Allen the K-9 quickly
located the subject hiding in thick brush covered with leaves. The subject
was taken into custody without further incident. Thanks to the hard work
and dedication of Deputy Mike Severance and his K-9 partner Allen of the
Franklin County Sheriff's Office, a family who had been traumatized was
able to rest easy that night. We are proud to name him and his partner our
"Officer of the Week"
