On November 3, 2007 Columbus Police
officers were dispatched to a robbery at the National City Bank on N.
Hamilton Rd.  It was determined the suspect in this robbery had
robbed a Chase Bank in Upper Arlington earlier that day.  A vehicle
description was aired and Columbus Police Officer James Owens, in
anunmarked vehicle spotted the suspect in the area of E. Dublin
Granville Rd and Beechcroft Rd. Officer Owens aired for assistance and
followed the vehicle until the assistance arrived.  The suspect was
stopped, he waspositively identified and the money from the robberies
was subsequently recovered.  Due to Officer Owens' initiative and
awareness, a dangerous criminal was arrested for the robberies.  We
are proud to name Columbus Police Officer James Owens our "Officer of the
Week"
