Columbus Police Officers Greg Potter and
April Redick
On
December 21, 2007. officers were dispatched to a "robbery in progress" at
a local pharmacy in the Tri-Village Area of 1 Precinct.  While
responding to the call,  Officer Greg Potter alertly observed a
suspicious vehicle in the area Olentangy River Road and King Ave.  As
Officer Potter was gathering suspect information via the police radio, the
passenger of the vehicle began to flee on foot.  Officer Potter
determined he matched the description of the robbery suspect.
Officer April Redick joined the foot pursuit as the suspect continued to
flee.  As the suspect approached innocent bystanders entering a
vehicle, Officer Redick deployed her Taser, incapacity the fleeing
suspect.  The driver of the suspect vehicle was also
apprehendedwithout incident.  Upon further investigation the
loaded firearm used in the robbery, and fruits of the crime were located
in their vehicle.  Thanks to the quick response, keen observations,
and team work of both officers,  two violent robbery suspects
were apprehended.  We are proud to name ColumbusPolice Officers
