On January 9, 2008 the CME Credit Union
was robbed at gunpoint.  Officer Frank Goldin assigned to the city's
16th precinct, began surveillance on the bank when not busy on dispatched
runs.  On January 13, 2008. Officer Goldin's dedication paid
off.  The same CME Credit Union was opening  and the the same
suspect dressed as a female entered the branch and robbed it. As the
robbery was dispatched,  Officer Goldin quickly spotted the male. He
was attempting to hide from him and began removing his disguise. 
After ashort stand-off with Officer Goldin, the suspect was
apprehended. The disguise, weapon, and currency were all recovered. 
The suspect was charged with 2 counts of Aggravated
Robbery.   Thanks to Officer Goldin's attention to
detail and personal initiative a robbery suspect has been taken off the
streets of Columbus.  We are proud to name Officer Goldin our
"Officer of the Week".
