Note: Currently the FOP does not bargain for this department. The village’s population is less than 5,000.
Like many villages, Groveport appointed marshals to provide law enforcement up until the 1960s. In 1966, the first police chief was appointed. In 1974 the first full-time police officer was hired. Presently, the Groveport police department has 18 sworn personnel with one civilian employee.
